And yet another day when the forms the Testors swore were coming haven't arrived. They truly seem to think that all I have to do is sign my name and everything is prepared. Ridiclous. We need conrete projected numbers. We need profiles. There are preparations to be made and a mountain of paperwork to be dealt with, and none of it can be done without even an update. I can honestly swear I may resign if there's ever another delay like there was this last summer. Last term barely ended, and another looming dangerously. This program isn't designed to be done like this.
At least I have dinner with William to look forward to this next week. He says he's going to be buying me something "nice" if he wins this next tournament, though I swear I'll slap him if he does.
I barely have time to write with all this work to do. God almighty. I didn't sign up for this. |

Congratulations to the graduates. There is no question that you have worked hard to achieve what many others have not. Well done. To those who did not graduate, my commiserations. I'm certain that you tried your very best. In all honesty, it will not be easy for some of you to endure this failure, but I believe that one is able to learn more from it than from their successes. Whether you have passed or not, I wish you the best for the future.
Please feel free to make one final statement here, before you hand back your journal as you leave. |

I hope you have been studying hard this final week, as exams will be held this Saturday. Friday classes will be devoted for revision. results will be released on Sunday night, and graduation will be held on Monday morning.
There will be no special activity this week due to exams, but on Sunday night, the academy will be holding a ball to celebrate the end of term, and you will need dates. I will leave it to you, this time, to pair yourselves. As you would know from etiquette, the boy is to invite the girl. I'm afraid that due to the even split of boys and girls this term, you will be certain to lose marks on your Etiquette final if you do not take part.
Best of luck for your exams. |

It is a pity we have had such terrible weather lately, as it will make today's special activity slightly harder than was intended. The activity for this week is a horseback relay, and you will be competing in pairs as listed below, riding your usual horses.
Mister Valo and Mister Blaise Mister Argall and Miss Mack Mister White and Miss Farrington Mister Simnel and Miss Dias Mister Wyatt and Miss Alessi Miss Frausca and Alex Miss Ryan and Mister Heaton |

This week's special activity will be a date at the theater house. A play will be performed for us tonight, by a highly regarded theater group. Again, you have been paired up for this activity. This time, you are to evaluate your partner's behaviour during your date, based on what you have learned in etiquette. I hope you will all enjoy the evening.
Mister Valo and Miss Frausca Mister Argall and Miss Dias Mister Heaton and Miss Farrington Mister Simnel and Miss Ryan Mister Wyatt and Miss Mack Mister Blaise and Miss Alessi
Due to Mister White's suspension, Alex, I will be your partner in this activity, and I will be playing a man the entire time.
Any questions? |

| [ | mood |
| | angry | ] | It has come to my attention that there was a rather noticeable incident this morning. After further investigation, I have this to say: you are all grown men and women, and you are expected to behave as such. The academy does not take kindly to physically harming your fellow students, even when provoked, because we expect you, as adults, to deal with it with grace and maturity. Thus, Mister White is suspended from all classes for the rest of the week. None of you are to help him with the work he has missed. I hope you understand the seriousness of this, Mister White, because if I find you indulging in inappropriate behaviour again, you will be expelled.
I am very disappointed that such a matter has come to pass. |

Well, I suppose you're very curious about the special activity on your schedules today. This week, the special activity will take the form of a scavenger hunt. This is to help you familiarize yourselves with campus, and more importantly, with your fellow students. This will be done in partners, which are as follows, and have been chosen at random:
Miss Ryan and Mister Valo Mister Argall and Mister White Miss Farrington and Miss Frausca Mister Heaton and Mister Blaise Alex and Miss Alessi Miss Mack and Miss Dias Mister Simnel and Mister Wyatt
Your first clue will be delivered before the activity begins, feel free to discuss here. |

Now, it's about time everyone is done packing. My congratulations to the graduates. You have undoubtedly worked hard to achieve your goals. You will find that your experiences here will serve you well later on, under the King's service. To those who did not graduate, I'm certain that you did your very best. Life may not be easy, for some of you, nor will it be easy for you to bear failure. But I believe that failure is not something to be ashamed of, only something from which you learn. It may be the end of your time at the academy, but I would also say it is the beginning of your adult life. Whether you have passed or not, I wish you all the best in the future.
Please, everyone, feel free to make one final statement here, before you hand in your journal on your way out. Again, The best of luck to every one of you. |

I'm sure you all know that examinations commence this Saturday. As a result, Friday classes will be devoted to revision. Please use that chance to ask any remaining questions you have. Exam results will be released on Sunday night, and graduation will be on Monday.
Despite the exams falling on a Saturday, I can assure you that there will still be a special activity this week. The academy will be holding a ball on Sunday night to celebrate the end of term, and as you will know from your etiquette classes, you will need dates. However, I'm leaving it to you all to pair yourselves. Refusing to take part will cost you marks in your Etiquette final, unless you are a girl without a date; the boy must be the one who initiates the invitation, I'm afraid.
Best of luck for your exams. |

This week's special activity will be a horseback relay, done in pairs. No doubt you have noticed the course being set up on the grounds. You will be riding your normal horses. The pairs for today are as follows:
Abby & Evie Russel & Olathe Jennifer & Vincent Elijah & Anabeth Kramer & Lavinia Jove & Bonnie Raul & Breanna Remiel & Imogen Selena & Wight Derek & Corbitt
I'm afraid that you are the odd one out this week, Mister Redwood. Would you prefer to ride with me, or find room in another group if they are willing to have you? |

Thank you all for your well wishes last week. As you may have assumed by the resumption of my earth magic class, I have recovered well enough. The cold weather does not help matters, but I have felt worse. Let's move on to today's announcement, shall we?
A theater group of some renown will be performing a play in the academy theater tonight. This week's special activity will be a date, but while I hope you will enjoy the play and your partner's company, I also hope you remember what you have been taught in etiquette. You are expected to behave as Madam Thorton has taught you, and tonight, your partner will be evaluating how well you have acted socially.
Since we have more females than males this term, some ladies will have to play men for half the night, then switch. Of course, you will not be evaluated on how well you have played one, but I do expect you to make the effort.
The partners:
Mylen & Lavina Elijah & Bonnie Russel & Jennifer Kramer & Evie Jove & Olathe Raul & Corbitt Remiel & Selena Vincent & Imogen Derek & Abby Breanna & Anabeth
And Miss Withywindle, you will be paired with me for the evening, and I will play a man the entire time.
I hope you will enjoy yourselves this evening. Any questions? |

My apologies to the earth magic class for my unavailability yesterday. As some of you may have gathered, I was feeling unwell. While I'm still not in the best of health, that does not mean I am exempt from duties as your headmistress and teacher, and there is this week's special activity to announce. I suppose you may or may not be dying of curiosity by now, with the day's delay.
This week's activity is a scavenger hunt. Its purpose, as some of you may have guessed, is to help you get to know your fellow students better, and to familiarize you further with the campus. This will be done in partners, which are as follows, and have been chosen at random:
Mister Bryant & Miss Contezza Mister Davenport & Miss Speelers Princess Eve & Miss Sontarios Miss Fey & Miss Onassis Mister Hamilton & Miss Massery MIss Kigelstone & Mister Löwe Mister Kramer & Jove Miss Lantfore & Mister Reinhardt Miss Pogue & Miss White Mister Redwood, Mister Lovelocke & Miss Withywindle
The first clue will be delivered before the activity begins. |

Greetings, students. Welcome to Everthorne Academy. I trust that by now you are situated in your rooms and have began to unpack. If not, please close this book, and wait until you are. That is your first priority. Then reopen it, because this is certainly your second.
You saw me earlier, when I gave you this journal, and directed the young ladies to Aphra House, and the young men to Corven House. I am Madam Ivy. You will address me as such. I am your headmistress, and you'll be listening to everything I say.
For some of you, the following month will be a cakewalk. Some of you are already profficient in over half of the skills taught here. But you'll pay attention and learn regardless. Consider it a review.
For some of you, the following month will be torture. Overcome it, or fail. The price of failure is high. I would advise making a point to overcome it, instead.
This is The Network. It's your best friend when you're here. You are required to monitor it closely, as it is the best way I have of communicating to all of you in the quickest period of time. Also, it's the best way to get to know one another, make plans, study, and collect your thoughts, all of which you'll need to do.
Classes begin tomorrow. You will find your schedules tucked into the back cover of this book; they're all identical, so don't bother comparing. You will also find instructions for how to lock your entries in this book, and a list of the rules for Everthorne, both worth reading, if you ask me. I would advise using today as a means to famiarlize yourself with campus, with the rules, and with your fellow students. Please don't hesitate to use the Network for this, it's why it was created.
Any questions? You may ask me at any time. My door is always open, but you'll probably find it easier on the legs to just ask here.
I hope you all succeed. |

I hope you've all finished packing and cleaning by now. End of term is near.
To the graduates, congratulations. You have all worked very hard to achieve such an honour. Instead of working to pass classes and exams, you must now work to become valuable assets to the King, and to society. I don't doubt that one day, Fairn will be proud to have you.
To those who did not graduate, ... I'm certain that you did your best. No one deserves to fail, but not many are fortunate to be enrolled in Everthorne, and failing does not mean you will not be successful in your future endevours. Don't listen to those who tell you that you are stupid, or a disgrace for not passing, for no one is infallible. I wish you all the best.
Please feel free to make one final statement about what you have learnt here before you hand in your journals. |

As you may be aware, examinations commence this Friday. I hope you have started studying early, as I'm sure revising a month's worth of material is not something a sensible person will leave to the night before. Most of the professors, including myself, will allow for you to ask any last questions during the Thursday class. These exams will not be so daunting if you apply yourself now.
Final results will be given on Saturday night, and graduation is on Sunday.
I also would like to announce this week's special activity. We will be holding a ball on Saturday night to celebrate the end of term, but this time, I will leave it up to you to pair yourselves. As you will have learned from etiquette, it is up to the boy to invite the girl he chooses for the event. Refusing to take part will cost you marks from your Etiquette final, unless you are a girl without a formal invitation. Due to the numbers, one girl will also have to volunteer to play a man, and if no one volunteers by tomorrow, I will have to assign a girl without a date. Please report to me when you have dates.
Contact me if you have any inquiries. I wish you the very best of luck for your exams. |

If you were out this morning, you may have noticed something being set up out on the grounds. It's for the special activity today: a horseback race. It will be done in pairs, of course, as a relay. It's a complicated course, but I'm certain you will manage. You'll be riding your usual horses. The pairs for today are below.
Dominic & Sylvia Thibault & Chandler Cael & Cat Ashlea & Althea Eryn & K Brad & Adeline Aaron & Flora
I hope you enjoy yourselves. |

I'm sure you must been looking forward to this week's special activity, after enjoying youselves so throughly last week. A highly reputable theater group have agreed to perform a play especially for us tonight, in our own theater. It may be difficult for those unaccustomed to formalities to follow, but the play will at least be a classic I hope is to everyone's taste.
That will not be all, however. I hope you have been paying attention during etiquette, because tonight will be a date, of sorts. You have been paired up, and will have to evaluate your partner on their behaviour. I expect that these evaluations will entirely be based on how well your partner has behaved in a social setting, not on any more ... personal reasons.
The partners, then:
Thibault & Eryn Ashlea & Chandler Dominic & Cat Brad & Flora Cael & Althea Aaron & Sylvia K & Adeline
Miss Eno and Miss Elvey, I'm terribly sorry, but you will have play men for half the night, then switch. Do not worry, you will not be expected to evaluate how well your partner plays a man, but I do expect you to give it your all.
Of course, if there are any questions, I'll be happy to answer them. |
